…with murphy….

today we evaluated dogs to become certified for pet therapy. all the dogs were cute. all the dogs did very well. but murphy…well…he broke my heart.
look at this face!

he was so sweet and so cuddly. i couldn’t stop smiling and lovin’ on him. it was very unprofessional.
WANTED: one corgi puppy. must love me and my crazy dog. must not chase cat. must be prepared to be cuddled and spoiled!
on a serious note: i do think i would love a dog like murphy, but, i’m all about shelter dogs and rescue dogs. also, i want a puppy because i want them to learn how to handle my cat and my very crazy dog. and…we’re due for a puppy. there’s nothing like a puppy. but to get a corgi puppy through rescue must be impossible!
do you see the predicament???
on a side note: do you bloggers think murphy should be a featured dog on dogdailyphoto.wordpress.com?

Love the Corgi — they have such great personalities. So glad he passed the evaluation!

Comment by goodbear February 24, 2008 @ 5:15 amI so love the corgi! I have never known a more personable and loving dog! A few months ago, my local humane society featured a corgi puppy on the noon news show. We tried to get him just an hour later and he was already gone.
Comment by meretay February 24, 2008 @ 5:35 ammeretay, thanks so much for stopping by. i totally understand the allure of the corgi!
Comment by goodbear February 24, 2008 @ 5:40 amMoppet and Benjamin both came from the humane society. Moppet was an owner surrender. He was all matted and covered in feces. Benjamin kept escaping from his chain and the owner gave up on him.
There are always so many dogs at the rescues and shelters, puppies as well. Just keep you eyes and ears peeled back and one will come your way I am sure. You want a Corgi= you might be surprised what you actually get.

Comment by Miguel February 24, 2008 @ 5:54 pmWow, Murphy is way cute. Pembrokes have a different cuteness than Cardigans – not quite as silly, but definitely corgi. You need a corgi. Let me put my brain to work and figure out a plan…

Pingback by dog daily photo - murphy is ready to visit patients! « DOG DAILY PHOTO March 5, 2008 @ 5:59 amYou could always “rescue” a corgi puppy from a breeder. *laugh* That’s how I try not to feel bad about purchasing my dogs and not rescuing them.
So I tell myself that I rescued them from going into a puppy farm life of breeding or something. Then it makes feel better about having paid for them instead of rescuing dogs from the shelter.
*sigh* I know it’s silly, but it helps a little. Does that make me seem silly?
Comment by Nevis March 15, 2008 @ 1:27 pmLove Murphy. I am looking for a corgi bred like Murphy. Do you know bloodlines?
Please let me know
I wish all the luck for a corgi puppy rescue

Comment by goodbear August 20, 2008 @ 9:44 pmO MY WORD! We have a PWCorgi too and they look VERY much alike right down to the fur. We have never seen one that looked like ours, especially the fur. I want to attach a photo, but I do not see how. Did you get Murphy in Pa?
Comment by Dana Klein January 25, 2009 @ 1:42 pmhi dana. murphy isn’t my dog, but a friend’s. he is from the west coast not pa.
