A Look Into “Checkers’ World!”

Today we begin the first interview in a series entitled “Cody Bear Asks!” We had a virtual sit-down with dog-blog sensation, Checkers.

Known for his silliness and cleverness, Checkers has fast become one of the most “blogrolled” dogs here at WordPress. With such wit and originality, it was a no-brainer that Checkers and his owner would be our first interview!

Today, March 28^th, 2008, Cody Bear asks….Checkers

cody bear: checkers, how did you get started blogging?

checkers: My owner thought it would be fun for me. He was right! He also wanted to learn how to blog and thought making a blog about me, by me would be a good way to learn (he does all the typing and technical stuff). So I guess I am his guinea pig cardigan welsh corgi!

cb: it is widely accepted that your tongue is your most intriguing feature. which other personal qualities do you credit for your tremendous blogging success?

checkers: My silliness, being photogenic (whatever that means), having a happy outlook on life and sharing it with everyone. Oh, yes, and my math skills.

cb: where do you find your inspiration for all your great posts?

checkers: I just see what’s happening that day, find something fun and silly, take pictures of it, and put it up on the blog. My owner helps me a lot. He points things out to me and says, “How about this?” He is an expert on silliness, so we make a good team.

cb: you recently added “the tongue thing” to your blog. what’s next!?

checkers: Look for a page on “fake fights.” Also “corgi math.”

cb: what are your likes and dislikes?

Checkers: I like people, other dogs, plush toys, kibble, rabbit food, ham sandwiches, America’s Next Top Model, car rides, couches, belly rubs, fake fights, math, walks, cameras, ear scratches, naps, backyards, potato chips, frosted flakes, snow, cheese, sunshine, TV remotes, wallets, nylabones, politics. Do I have any dislikes? I can’t think of anything. My motto is “It’s all good.”

cb: any advice for new dog bloggers?

checkers: Pictures, pictures, pictures! The sillier the better!
