wow, i had the best weekend and i just feel like a ten year old who has returned from a day at disney land!
but i can’t talk about it right now…but i do have an important announcement:
i really appreciate the regualar visitors we get here at cody bear’s friends, and i want you to keep coming back…so, from now on…any blog that has to do with creepy, scary bugs or things that involve the digestive system of my dog will be prefaced with a warning. at lease one of my blog readers hates bugs very, very much and another reader is not comfortable with things that make one queazy.
that being said, here is an adorable lady bug!
yes, about 50 percent of my waking hours were spent in the great outdoors this weekend! i’ll blog about it later,….once i get back from the bar. bye all!

if you’re new to mad lib thursday, i gather words from you guys in the comments of this post, then thursday, while my boss isn’t looking, i log onto wordpress and do the mad libs. here are some good ones from the past: here, here and here
so, i don’t get many hits to either of my blogs, compared to other blogs. typically i get very VERY few hits to dog daily photo. around 30 to 60. but last week i had three days in a row that were around 100. “odd” i thought.
then back down to a few hits. THENNNNN, on monday i had THIS POST! a picture of cody bear jumping….and it got 309 hits. please tell me why…someone…please. i don’t get it. and now my stats page is so depressing because the graphic, even if i get like 50 hits, will look like one or 2 people stopped by the blog every day now. because of the HUGE 309. i realize 300 hits isn’t alot of hits, but it was so weird for my little blog to get that many. and i think its a glitch and a mistake because hardly anyone left comments and the referrers numbers don’t come near totally that. any ideas?
i have never gotten that many hits with both blogs combined in a day, so it has to be a mistake! i mean, sure, cody bear is cute and all. and he was REALLY up there, but sheesh.
an update….not much to say, so i will take the boring details of my day and pretend they’re exciting.
we had a visitor stop by my house today, and while i was showing her my back yard, see spotted from about twenty feet away….a very rare night blooming plant growing through the branches of one of my run of the mill trees. how exciting. i shall have to keep a better watch on it.
i got a mother’s day card from my dog in the mail today. one from my cat a few days ago. neither of them work….so they should have partnered up and got a “from the both of us” card.
as you know i just took up photography. well, today, for the first time, i uploaded 2 to a professional photo processing company and am getting them actually printed. i think they’re suitable for framing!
yesterday dominique was sent packing on america’s next top model. fine. how did she even get on the show to begin with.
so, those are the random and boring updates. truthfully, i just wanted to put tonight’s picture of cody bear on line. i just brushed him, so he’s extra soft and fluffy.
oh! duh! i almost forgot this really titillating detail: i got my new copy of bark magazine today!
hi everyone! i realize some of my entries have been sad or heavy lately, so i wanted to turn things around and talk about some cheery stuff.
starting today, blogs will be more positive, however, i will update you on topics that may be sad from time to time.

that is probably the last youtube video i post in a while. this is good news because there is a glitch the disables the video from time to time. that’s frustrating for me, and you, cody bear’s friends.
on the happy train, i have learned that blog friend lavenderbay is getting fergus, a cute new baby corgi puppy. he will make a great play mate for her dog, cai.
we will resume our “cody bear asks” series, but with less frequency. and, if checkers is up for it, there are more road trips planned akin to roswell and the whitehouse trip! we may even do some more cnn headline jumbles! and more more MORE photography!
also, it is time to inform you all that i do NOT hate my coworker anymore. he is not that irritating and he has been trying hard. also, he has stopped treating me like the house wench.
mad lib thursdays will continue! wordless wednesdays will also continue here at the blog, however, i can only remain wordless for an hour or two before i start….using words.

i should have done this yesterday, as it was very slow and boring at work. today might be busy, but i will hopefully get 2 or 3 mad libs up…if i get enough words.
that’s right! we try really hard to stay green. but still, there are a few more things we are going to try to work on every day from here on out.
1. i waste food. i do. example. i buy a loaf of healthy bread (about 3.69). then i bring it home and i never eat it. i end up throwing it out when i realize it is probably gross and i have no idea how long it has been in there. i’m not doing that any more!
2. take better care of my health. this way i lower my risk of getting sick as i age and resources won’t be wasted on my healthcare. (that’s the theory, anyway) but you never know. somethings are beyond our control. but, i do want to get into better cardiac health….
3. the world is full of negativity. and hate. i promise from here on out to stop making fun of the flds ladies’ hair do’s anymore. or people in general. just IN CASE my picking on folks is contributing to the planet’s negative vibe.
4. i am going to RE-ATTEMPT to stop drinking soda. the packaging (can, plastic, whatever) isn’t helping this planet. besides it is TERRIBLE for me. i HAVE to quit. (as i sip my icey coke…)
5. ride my bike to the grocery store more frequently. (its a very short ride, but i don’t like riding my bike if i have to buy big things. i just don’t feel comfortable carrying a twenty-four pack of cottonelle on my handle bars.)
ok, that’s good for now. i’ll probably add more soon. we’ve actually been doing a good job at our recent efforts: buying locally grown veggies, new water filtration system, reusing bottles, etc.
