welcome to goodbear’s house. well, her front patio, at least.
my first pair of friends have started their move. these folks to portland. their real estate agent demanded they get rid of their many potted plants. i guess she thinks they were cluttering the yard or something. foolish woman.
so i am fostering some plants! as you can see, they’ve assimilated with my existing potted plants quite well!

the heat has been getting to everyone. it was time to get out of town…and, after leaving town….ride a train down a hole for several hundred feet!
we took a day trip and went on a mine tour! it was 47 degrees F below ground. 100 degrees back home and we had to wear sweatshirts. hurray!
you ride a train down. well…sort of a train. more of a picnic bench on iron wheels.
they bundled us in yellow jackets and gave us helmets and battery packs with 8 hour lights. they explained the history, techniques and lore . . .
OF WHICH I REMEMBER NOTHING!
i was just there for the cold air!
last saturday, over breakfast, we thought about this hair brained day trip. glad we did it. i suggest you follow through with one of your hair brained ideas.

1. she has been busy at work.
2. she has been busy with friends.
3. she went away for a mini-vacation with the dogs this weekend.
4. she entertained some guests.
5. she has been busy wracking her brain trying to think of something clever to say to a stranger, her new secret crush.
6. she has been struggling to handle her border collie puppy who just decided to work her stubborn streak.
7. she’s been exhausted from the heat.
8. she’s been celebrating cody bear’s good health.
9. she’s been shopping for jeans.
but things are slowing down. temporarily.

goodnight, everyone. we’re having a busy week. we’re too tired to wag.
and so the work week comes to an end….
…time for romping.
’twas a costly day. a small car problem. killed one third of today’s paycheck. but….after work we had a party. that was a nice way to kick the weekend off. this weekend will include some play dates, some photo field trips, and …if all goes to plan…time with friends. possibly some housework, as well. and…unfortunately, a little work.
looking back, the WORST part of the week was the shooting at the ushmm. the BEST part of the week was cody bear’s fantastic agility accomplishment tuesday night. the tastiest moment was the maribelle cakery cake.
