pickles is a barker…

anything she’s unsure of gets a few barks.

yesterday morning the dogs were in the back yard and i was here…blogging. i heard a strange sound of barking.  it was as if pickles had fell down the well in the back yard.

but i don’t have a well.

this hollowed out ceramic chicken wind chime had fallen out of a tree a few weeks ago.

she was barking into the bottom hole.  she seemed quite please with the sound of her bark….

kind of like when i was a kid and i would sing into the box fan….

O M Goodness … please please don’t let pickles teach Clover this trick. I have enough barking going on around here .. I don’t need an echo!

Singing and thumping on your own chest (or having someone thump on your back) gives a nice effect, too …

Pickles is a going concern, isn’t she? 🙂
Hate to admit it, but the fan I hummed into wasn’t a plastic box but an army-green, round, metal one with the safety spacers ‘WAY too far apart — kinda like the cribs we slept in; it’s amazing we all made it out of childhood.
I also loved to babble while being pulled down the pebbly dirt road in the little wooden wagon.
