sheesh.

oy.

wow.

i PROMISE to start blogging more regularly again.  and so much has happened:  events to discuss.  opinions to express.

but instead i shall give you a little info on last week.

first of all, pickles had dog day care friday.  that went great for her, but meanwhile, when i came home at lunch to give cody bear medicine, home dog majorly cracked a back toenail running after a car by the fence.  poor little nut.

the woman who runs the day care is a friend of mine and, well, she doesn’t necessarily love birds.  they freak her out and they’re always trying to be her best friend.  well, wouldn’t you know: some doves decided to set up housekeeping right outside her front door on her patio furniture.

mourning dove eggs . . . on a chair

here’s where we talk about natural selection.  do these doves not care that they are plopping their posterity down in a high traffic area.  not only that….but on a chair…right at dog muzzle level at a dog day care.  sigh.

i have to get back to a project, but will say, i’m busy but a good busy.  i know many of you are too because blog alarms aren’t ringing off the hook.

i plan to blog alot this weekend.

have a good week all.

Mourning doves have always seemed like pretty stupid birds to me. Not like, say, a flock of crows.

Glad to see you are blogging again…
I’m sure the older mourning doves are talking about that lazy younger generation that doesn’t know how to build a proper nest.

true. true. and most mystery lovers out there probably already know this, but…a flock of crows is called a murder.

aren’t mourning doves part of the “naugh naugh ppiiiggeonnn” family.
Sorry, can’t say that bird without getting all Bert…

years ago I had a dove build a nest in my front door wreath! Needless to say I didn’t use the front door for quite a while and put up a sign for people to stay away from the door and call before coming over so that I could let them in the back gate!

Mourning doves will nest nearly anywhere. I’m amazed just how delicate their nests are.

Is Cody bear alright then? His foot’s not sore?

Pickles seems very social. Cute.
