twas a sad day in rubber chicken land. we have indoor toys and outdoor toys. cody bear’s favorite outdoor toy is henrietta, the rubber chicken scandalously clad in a purple bikini. each morning he runs laps around the back yard with chick chick in his choppers.
tonight….during a game of “tug”…henrietta was halved:
so, it was midnight…we were running around the yard. the tugging began and the hen….well…canine playtime vivisection. not too gross!
i thought henrietta’s day’s of fun were over, but clearly i was wrong!
two things to note: cody bear has faith in his toys and he will not let them die into this good night. and also….it is time to go buy some overpriced, whimsical, squeaky dog toys!
….i’m not complaining…..ludicrous toy shopping is tops in my books!

i FINALLY had time to sit down and play with this new adobe photoshop elements program:
it can’t be all bad if you can make two cody bears! he’s chasing himself!

so, being medicated and tucked into my quilt, i had my trusty blackberry, my trusty cat and my trusty dog with me in bed.
the blackberry curve has a camera with flash in it. lets see how this feature stood up to late night, decongestant induced product testing.
first the dog, resting by my feet…
oooh. that is NOT suitable for framing.
now the cat, coming back to bed after taking her nightly sips from a scotch glass of water she must have on the bedside table…
creepy! i’m not sure i want these critters sleeping with me!
ok, so the blackberry camera feature is NOT up to snuff, but i still LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!

what…a….day
i’ll leave the messy details out and only mention the trivial….
the new guy showed up 1/2 hour early for his interview. after 1hour, 45mins chatting with the boss, el jeffe cancelled the rest of his interviews and hired the guy on the spot. his biggest concerns: getting the guy up to speed, and, does he really have all the techy know how he says he does.
then i got my new (to me) canon. oh, it is very intimidating and NOTHING like my little power shot. so far, my power shot takes much better pics, but simply because i have NO idea what i’m doing.
getting better though as the night progresses. here is cody bear…late at night under flourescent lighting, no flash:
here is….a broom handle with a super duper high shutter speed. hey,…what can i say….
not too many night-time photo opportunities on my porch!
any way….its a progress. please bear with me while i learn and (hopefully) progress.

hi everyone! just a little post announcing a new blog of mine (and cody bear’s) called dogdailyphoto.
every day i will post a new picture of a dog. the photos will be either taken by me or given to me directly by the person who took the picture. that way no pictures will be stolen.
naturally, my first picture is of cody bear, but stop by each day to see different feature dogs. who knows…..maybe YOUR dog blogger can get their picture there, too! i’ve got my eye on some of you internet dog friends….

… where you need to move fast and you must take respite from chores and errands.
its SO hard to catch (with camera) cody bear when he’s h.o.p. (hell on paws).
but, i needed some pictures of him this weekend since i got a bunch done yesterday, but none of it was photo-worthy:
got car detailed, took car to shop to get new battery and oil change, took cody to a shop, did some laundry, and some dishes, brushed cody bear’s teeth AND fur, started knitting martha’s birthday present(hope she likes it), took cody bear for a super long walk.
anyway, you get the idea. so, here is another attempt at catching him in action as he corners around a shrub:
great, cody bear, thanks. ANOTHER speeding butt shot.
i finally got this one as he blew by me:
i’m glad he got some yayas out because he has to go to work with me today and appear well-mannered and stress free. like many dogs, he’s happiest when he’s moving fast. but also, the exercise gets his endorphins out and about, making him a happier dog throughout the day!

the cats in mom’s town are even more belligerent the ones here. they come up to the window, about 3-4 feet away from cody bear, and they park their fuzzy butts right in front of the honeysuckle and just stare at him. he barks and whines and spins, and all the while they just look right at him, through him rather, with this look that says, “oh my, what IS that irritating sound? is that coming from YOU lowly dog?
so, here he is, waiting for the antagonists to return:
so, upon our arrival home, my kitty goes nuts. she hadn’t seen us in a week. she was rubbing on him, purring, following him around. the morning after we return, cody bear and i were sleeping, spooning at rest, and the cat comes up, layyyys down on TOP of the dog and starts purring. she kept from sliding off him by bracing her paws on me. glad i could help kitty love, glad i could help.
oh, and yes, cody bear’s tail is VERY fluffy.
