have i ever mentioned “seasonal bandana syndrome” to you? sbs: when my mother fabricates then sends seasonal/festive/holiday bandanas to the dogs.
now cody bear LOVES bandanas….but…i think he knew these were ….PINK!
me: “ohhh. baby loves!”
cody bear: “this is emasculating.”
me: “but you’re so cute and gramma loves you so.”
pickles: “um….i’m going to kill you. …..tonight.”
the package had two festive bandanas and one dozen heart shaped snicker doodles. (snacking on them now.)
nothing for the cat. she’s quite relieved.
“we are NOT amused.”
try them again on st. patty’s day. pickles likes her beer and cody bear looks great in green!

oh you guys. living with cody bear is always fun, i must say.
every morning after breakfast he goes, what i call, h.o.p. HELL ON PAWS. runs like a lunatic through the back yard. pounceing in front of me or pickles, spinning around, enticing us to chase him, attacking blades of grass.
looks like this most days:
this morning he’s running around then suddenly disappears behind an old, huge creosote bush. then i hear this intense growling like he’s fighting for his life. next thing i know, i hear a loud CRACK and he emerges from the scrub with a 5 foot long tree branch in his jaws. and he’s running top speed through the yard.
i instantly foresee danger, but it was ok. shortly after he ran by a folding lawn chair and it got caught. he looked at it like, “ouch. branch….why you hatin’?”
pickles freezes, looks at the branch like, “wow. that looked fun.” grabs it. she got about 2 feet before she got it tangled in the drying rack and knocked my t-shirts into the dirt. oh pickles!

i love my cat but, ….she’s got some weird stuff goin’ on. kittiosyncracies, if you will.
for instance, her shoe love. i will often walk into the room and find her rubbing her face on my shoe. slippers, flip flops, hikers, what have you.

about bath day….
while cody bear appreciates the snuggling (with the bubbles), pickles is personally affronted! “how dare you get me wet AND take all my dirt away?”
but the joyous times afterwards! oh my! they romp around the self serve dog wash, playing…and…retail shopping. (really? your dogs…you don’t have money.)

oh wow. what a week. what a lousy week. thank god i had some dogs and my cat to make me laugh and give me some lovins’.
i won’t even bore you with the crap but it was a collection of incidents from all facets of our tiny world here. work, friends, family, etc. you get the picture.
so i shall list the good stuff:
since i haven’t been riding my bike(s) enough lately ( i think it’s the heat) i’m treating myself to a new helmet after my next payday.
cody bear has only barfed 2 times in the last 3 weeks and still weighs almost 50 pounds.
my cat got sick while i was out of town but is finally feeling like her old kitty self again. she has only been sick once in 13 years! some sort of kitty cold.
alli is coming home for a visit next weekend! should be good fun to have a friend in town.
* plans are under way with my new business partner. i can’t wait to tell you all about it!!!!
only 4 more months till my sister and her husband are here for a visit! the dogs are going to love them!

about a year ago i had a dream that i was kissing johnny depp. well, this weekend i got the following email from one of my best friends:
“By the way I had another dream about you last night. I’m going to tell it to you before you say OPA! and make me forget again. I was kissing Johnny Depp this time. I called you tell you about it and your voice message said this (in an Eyore voice), “hi, this is goodbear. I’m not answering the phone today. I gained 100lbs over night and I’m too fat to answer the phone. Go away”. So me and Johnny went to your house and you were laying in bed and we squeezed in and hugged you (we could barely get our arms around you) Isn’t that strange. You weren’t really fat tho you were like a giant person.”

our coffees wore off, so buzzybeegirl went to get us scarfasauruses of coke at the gas-n-sip up the street. hope she backed up before she left…..

cody bear says that bears LOVE HONEY. he still doesn’t get that the native bees don’t make honey.
